Columbia Basin College, WA
…Having taught music for 25 years, it was gratifying to witness the level of interest and attention extended by the music students and general audience, all of whom were both entertained and educated. It does not require a music degree to note Todd’s artistry, his creativity, his mastery of the many instruments utilized and his obvious love for what he does so well. It was as though he had moved the stage into the classroom, and the classroom onto the stage, combining performance with the sharing of information in a very palatable manner…

California State University-Sacramento
…Todd is a talented musician and consistently a great audience draw. His performance is both entertaining and educational and he always has a long line of audience members coming to him after the program with lots of questions, which he happily answers… (5 performances in as many years)

Brigham Young University_UT
…As the teacher of the course with some background in the musics of the cultures represented by the instruments, I have to say I was thoroughly impressed with Todd’s grasp of the technical aspects of performance on the instruments and also with the music he played.  The concert was attended by students from across the campus and judging from the applause they likewise thoroughly enjoyed the
performance…

Graceland University_IA
…Todd Green is genuine. He also brings to the subject his understanding of ‘crossover’ and ‘fusion’ of styles. These terms will morph from the jazz world to the global world by mid-century as we discover we are more bits and pieces of each other than we had ever realized…

York College, NE
…Our dean of students said Todd was the best thing brought to campus all year! The campus and community were equally enthralled, and Todd’s incredible musicianship and presentation made the two-day experience one of the most fulfilling I’ve been able to offer York in 24 years of teaching here…

Ball State University, IN
…In all three events, Mr. Green was outstanding, both as a performer and as an educator. His skill on each of the instruments he played was very impressive. In addition, his explanations were clear and concise, and he held the audiences’ attention throughout…

Mount Marty College, SD
…As a Catholic Benedictine College we were inspired by the example you provided for us of a person dedicated to the pursuit of enhancing one’s intellectual, spiritual and creative life through your musical journey. You are more than an extremely accomplished artist. You are a reflection of a person who has a genuine reverence for cultural diversity and recognition of the powerful role that music plays in sustaining the rich tapestry of customs, lifestyles, religious practices and creative ideas that make life and the human experience so magnificent…

Arts Council & PACs

Albion Area Arts Council, NE
…Our 8-year old son came home and announced that every child in the second grade now wants to be a musician, and we are still approached by parents who are amazed at how exited their high-school age sons and daughters were. Most commented that their children never mentioned anything that happened at school, but couldn’t stop talking about Todd. Todd’s evening concert was also very well received. Todd is a rare and gifted musician who presents one of the most educational and entertaining performances I have ever experienced…

Platte Valley Arts Council, WY
…The public performance was well received and one of the most successful public performances we have had with a guest artist. The buzz around town was not to miss the public performance and residents who had never attended events sponsored by the PVAC attended the concert and were very impressed with the caliber of talent that Todd displayed. Students moved their chairs (as all of the front rows were immediately filled) and made a new row adjacent to the audience so they could be closer to see Todd perform. After the performance, students and adults alike clamored around the stage to visit with Todd and get a close up look of his instruments….

Okonomowok Arts Center, WI
…Todd’s two school performances were both sold out and he held the children’s attention throughout, even taking many questions from the children afterwards. His evening performance the following day brought many students and their families back to see his full length show. More theatrical, with additional lighting and special mood setting atmosphere, the evening audience was treated with an in-depth experience of the sounds and history of so many strange and exotic instruments. Many people had favorable comments about his half hour pre-show playing as they were entering the theater…”It was like entering someone’s living room for a private concert, you felt comfortable the moment you walked in.” Todd is truly a talented musician and music historian and an absolute pleasure to work with…

Sweetwater County Community Concerts, WY
…We had the absolute pleasure to have Todd Green perform for our Association. Todd is a wonderful performer and is extremely knowledgeable of the music of the east…He has an engaging style that draws the students in, using questions and demonstrations that are so interesting that the children don’t even realize they are learning. We then saw many of the children come with their parents to the evening concert to hear him again. The evening performance for the Concert Association was fascinating. He is a true virtuoso and his love for the eastern musical history and styles is evident as he plays…

Water Music Festival, WA
Todd Green’s performance for the Long Beach Peninsula’s 1999 Water Music Festival was a huge success. The audience was completely enthralled by the sounds of and the number of ethnic instruments Todd played. His formidable musical ability, discussion of each instrument and his use of electronic equipment made a fascinating concert even more interesting and he was received with a standing ovation. A question asked me by several people was “where do you find such wonderful artists?”…

Mahaffey Theater for the Performing Arts, FL
I was delighted by Todd Green’s performance as part of our Class Acts Education Program. The students and adults who attended the presentation were treated to a sophisticated, engaging and beautifully executed program. Todd Green’s demonstrated musicianship and charismatic explanation of the instruments that share the stage with him provided an intriguing and educational musical trip around the globe. The process of over-dubbing each instrument was equally fascinating and relevant to today’s technologically-inspired classrooms…

Mountain Home Arts Council, ID
What a blessing you have been to our community. You have the town buzzing with your talent. The education you’ve given has been particularly valuable. Your ability to connect with your audience and engage all ages has been a wonder to experience…

E-mail, Mankato, MN
Dear Todd: The other night in Mankato, MN, my family went to a concert of yours while I was in bed sick. They RAVED about what I had missed so much that we want to hunt down another concert we can ALL go to. Would you please be so kind as to email me your MN locations for concerts? You are downright inspirational, and this for my non-musical husband, was quite a treat! My boys also saw you at Fitzgerald Middle School and have talked about the AWESOME instruments over and over…and what you could do with them. I am listening to your CD right now. Take Care, You are serving the world in a wonderful way, obviously!

K-12 Educators

Lincoln Elementary School, Little Falls, MN
…He captured the students’ attention immediately with his array of intriguing instruments and held it for the entire one-hour performance. Afterward, I heard many veteran teachers comment that they had never seen the student, even the Kindergarteners, sit so quietly for so long. Todd’s engaging style allowed him to teach the students not only about the music and instruments from around the globe, but also about geography, cultural traditions, and accepting differences…The evening performance was extremely well attended, especially for an event of this nature in our community…It is now two weeks after the performance and I still hear students talking about him; they even remember the names of the instruments he played!

Morris Community Education, MN
…I was very impressed with Todd’s ability to work with and hold the attention of both elementary and high school students. They were so fascinated by all of the different instruments, the unique and different sounds they made, and the many countries they came from. It truly was a musical trip around the world…Todd’s evening concert was also well received. Even with another event going on in the same building there were still over 250 people in attendance. I had some parents tell me that their child chose to come to the concert over going to a sporting event…Please thank Todd for broadening our musical awareness. He is and outstanding musician. His music is so amazing and spiritually invigorating…

Hill City High School, KS
…While our students regularly attend assemblies that address social issues, such as self-esteem, and the dangers of drugs and alcohol, they rarely get the opportunity to see and talk with someone like Todd Green, who celebrates art and culture from around the world. His performance was not only amazing from a technical and musical point of view, but was incredibly informative about the history and depth of global musical traditions. In this time of international tensions, especially between the United States and the Middle East, I am hopeful that Todd’s careful demonstration of Middle Eastern instruments and music will help build a little more understanding and tolerance in our students…

Brooklyn Academy of Music, NY
…Many of the students that we serve are unable to leave the school and visit performing arts institutions, and we enjoyed offering Todd’s performance directly to the students of New York City. In such a multicultural city, Todd’s presentation made quite an impression, as many children were able to hear and see instruments reflecting their own cultural heritage. The students and teachers alike responded with enthusiasm to the breadth of information he offered…

Corning Community School, IA
…As a small, rural community in one of the poorest areas of the state, our children are not afforded the opportunity to fine arts programs, nor are most adults in our community. I can honestly say that Todd Green’s musical performance was the most powerful and influential program that I’ve seen in my twenty years in education. I was concerned that our youngest children would have a difficult time focusing for such a program, but to my pleasant surprise, they were riveted. Todd did an outstanding job mixing education with humor and kept all of our students entertained. Our staff is still talking about the wonderful program. Many students returned for the evening concert, attended by over 250 patrons, which says a great deal about the impact he had…

San Juan Island Community Theater, WA
(From a parent) I was so pleased with my children’s interest in Todd Green’s performance that I wanted to thank you!  Lilly, Casey and Cody all came home from school last Friday with a glowing report of how they enjoyed his presentation. I feel very fortunate that they can have these enriching experiences through the partnership that the San Juan Island School District and your theater have. Cody is in his first year of band and has chosen percussion so he was especially interested in the various drums Todd played. He even went to his website to learn more about him….

Caughlin Ranch Elementary, NV
Fabulous—Interesting—Held the attention of 7-year old autistic student—Quite a feat! Music was beautiful. Children should see more programs such as this.
